Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 And that the foolish amongst us used to forge extravagant things against Allah: 4 and that [we were mistaken when] we thought that neither man nor [any of] the invisible forces would ever tell a lie about God. 5 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 We used to sit near by and try to listen to the heavens, but shooting flames now await those who try to do that. 9 And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. 10 Just as [we do not know how it happens] that some from among us are righteous, while some of us are [far] below that: we have always followed widely divergent paths. 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. 17 The mosques are for God's worship -- so do not invoke anyone else along with God -- 18 When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). 19
