The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
