The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
