The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 Will pray for death, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
