The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and so am I: 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
