A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 This is a Book revealed to you. Let there be no impediment in your heart about it. (It has been revealed to you) that you may thereby warn [the unbelievers], that it may be a reminder to the believers. 2 (Saying): Follow that which is sent down unto you from your Lord, and follow no protecting friends beside Him. Little do ye recollect! 3 How many a village have We laid in ruin! In the night Our Might fell upon it, or at midday when they were drowsy. 4 And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" 5 Then verily We shall question those unto whom (Our message) hath been sent, and verily We shall question the messengers. 6 Then We shall narrate to them with knowledge the whole account. For surely, We were not away from them. 7 The weighing on that Day will be the true weighing: those whose scales are heavy will prosper. 8 And whosesoever balances will be light - those are they who have lost themselves in respect of Our signs. 9 And indeed We established you in the earth and in it created for you the means of livelihood; very little thanks do you offer! 10
