And said the leaders of his people, who disbelieved and denied the confronting of the Hereafter – and We had given them comfort in the worldly life – that, “He is nothing but a human like you, he eats from what you eat and drinks from what you drink.” 33 "If ye obey a man like yourselves, behold, it is certain ye will be lost. 34 Does he promise you that after you die and become dust and bones you will be brought back to life again? 35 ۞ Far-fetched, utterly far-fetched is what you are being promised. 36 Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 37 "He is only a man who invents a lie against Allah, but we are not the ones to believe in him!" 38 The Messenger said: "My Lord! Come to my help at their accusing me of lying." 39 Allah said: after a little while they will become regretful. 40 So they were rightly seized by a mighty blast; and We turned them into mouldy rubbish: A good riddance of the wicked people! 41 Then We produced after them other generations. 42 no community can advance or postpone its appointed time, 43 We sent Our messengers one after the other but whenever a Messenger would come to a nation, its people would call him a liar and We would destroy one nation after the other, thus, only their stories were left behind them. God keeps the unbelievers far away from His Mercy. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our Signs and a clear authority 45 Towards Firaun and his court members – in response they were haughty, and they were in dominance. 46 and they said, 'What, shall we believe two mortals like ourselves, whose people are our servants?' 47 Then they belied the twain; so they became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings. 50
