And the Thamud belied the warnings. 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Hath the admonition been laid upon him from amongst us! Aye! he is a liar insolent. 25 [We said to him] "Tomorrow they shall know who is the boastful liar, 26 Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]. 28 But they called their commander, who seized and hamstrung her. 29 and how severe was the suffering which I inflicted when My warnings were disregarded! 30 We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence. 31 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 32 The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 33 We sent a sandstorm against them which destroyed them all, except the family of Lot, whom We saved at the break of dawn, 34 As favor from us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful. 35 And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning. 36 They even asked of him his guests for an ill purpose. Then We blinded their eyes (and said): Taste now My punishment after My warnings! 37 And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment. 38 "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 39 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
