(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 That they may understand my saying. 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 Harun, my brother. 30 Strengthen by him my back. 31 and let him share my task, 32 So shall we glorify Thee, 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 You are surely seeing us' 35 Allah said: "You are granted your request, O Musa (Moses)! 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 when We revealed Our will to your mother, saying, 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 Go, you and your brother with My signs, and do not be negligent of My Remembrance. 42 Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 He (Allah) said: "Fear not, verily! I am with you both, hearing and seeing. 46 “Therefore go to him and say, ‘We are the sent ones of your Lord, therefore let the Descendants of Israel go with us, and do not trouble them; we have indeed brought to you a sign from your Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance.’ 47 ‘It has indeed been revealed to us that the punishment is upon the one who denies and turns away.’” 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 He said, “Our Lord is One Who gave everything its proper shape, then showed the path.” 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither erreth nor forgetteth, 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 (Saying): Eat ye and feed your cattle. Lo! herein verily are portents for men of thought. 54
