Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Even then they say: 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
