Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
