He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 To him you attend; 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 you pay him no heed. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 noble and pious. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 We send down abundant water, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Dust shall cover them 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
