The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil). 2 Who believe in the Unseen, and establish prayer, and out of that wherewith We have provided them expend. 3 And who believe in that which has been revealed to you and that which was revealed before you and they are sure of the hereafter. 4 Those are upon [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful. 5 As for those whose fate is disbelief, whether you warn them or do not warn them – it is all one for them; they will not believe. (Because their hearts are sealed – see next verse). 6 Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah's Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment. 7
