And Noah, when he cried of old, We heard his prayer and saved him and his household from the great affliction. 76 and We helped him against the people who cried lies to Our signs; surely they were an evil people, so We drowned them all together. 77 And David and Solomon, when they gave judgment concerning the field, when people's sheep had strayed and browsed therein by night; and We were witnesses to their judgment. 78 We made Solomon understand the law about the case and gave both David and Solomon knowledge and wisdom. We made the mountains and birds glorify the Lord along with David. We had also done to him such favors before. 79 It was We Who taught him the making of coats of mail for your benefit, to guard you from each other's violence: will ye then be grateful? 80 And unto Solomon [We made subservient] the stormy wind, so that it sped at his behest towards the land which We had blessed: for it is We who have knowledge of everything. 81 We also subjected to him some of the jinn who dived for him in the sea and performed other tasks; We kept a watch over them. 82 ۞ And Job when he called to his Lord: 'Affliction has befallen me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful' 83 So We answered his call, and We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his family to him (that he had lost), and the like thereof along with them, as a mercy from Ourselves and a Reminder for all who worship Us. 84 And Ishmael, Idris, and ThulKifl (the son of Job) each were patient. 85 And We caused them to enter into our mercy, verily they are of the righteous. 86 And Yunus, when he went away in wrath, so he thought that We would not straiten him, so he called out among afflictions: There is no god but Thou, glory be to Thee; surely I am of those who make themselves to suffer loss. 87 So We answered him, and delivered him out of grief; even so do, We deliver the believers. 88 And (remember) Zakariya, when he cried to his Lord: "O my Lord! leave me not without offspring, though thou art the best of inheritors." 89 And so We responded unto him, and bestowed upon him the gift of John, having made his wife fit to bear him a child: [and,] verily, these [three] would vie with one another in doing good works, and would call unto Us in yearning and awe; and they were always humble before Us. 90 And (remember) she who guarded her chastity [Virgin Maryam (Mary)], We breathed into (the sleeves of) her (shirt or garment) [through Our Ruh - Jibrael (Gabriel)], and We made her and her son ['Iesa (Jesus)] a sign for Al-'Alamin (the mankind and jinns). 91 Lo! this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me. 92 And they broke their religion (into sects) between them: to Us shall all come back. 93
