The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 who observe Zakah; 4 who guard their privates, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 those who are true to their trust, 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 Those are the heirs 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
