And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
