Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
