The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by those that swim serenely 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
