The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the sky with its constellations, 1 And the promised day, 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 by a burning fire 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 and the One to whom belongs the heavens and the earth. God is the Witness of all things. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
