The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sun and its noon-time brightness, 1 And the moon when it follows the sun, 2 and by the day when it displays him 3 by the night when it covers the earth with darkness, 4 by the heavens and that (Power) which established them, 5 The earth and its spreading out, 6 and by the soul and by Him Who perfectly proportioned it, 7 and inspired it with knowledge of evil and piety, 8 Indeed successful is the one who made it pure. 9 And he who confines it will surely come to grief. 10 The people of Thamud rejected (the truth) as a result of their rebelliousness 11 When the most wicked man among them went forth (to kill the she-camel). 12 But the Messenger of Allah said to them: "It is a She-camel of Allah! And (bar her not from) having her drink!" 13 But they cried him lies, and hamstrung her, so their Lord crushed them for their sin, and leveled them: 14 He does not fear the result (of their destruction). 15
God the Almighty always says the truth.
