When He made the slumber overcome you, so it was as a peacefulness from Him, and sent down water from the sky upon you to purify you with it, and to remove the impurity of Satan from you, and to give your hearts fortitude and firmly establish your feet with it. 11 And recall when your Lord inspired the angels: 'I am certainly with you. So make firm the feet of those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. So strike at their necks and strike at every pore and tip. 12 This is because they had made a breach with Allah and His Messenger. He who makes a breach with Allah and His Messenger indeed, Allah is stern in retribution. 13 That (is the award), so taste it, and (know) that for disbelievers is the torment of the Fire. 14 O believers, when you encounter the unbelievers marching to battle, turn not your backs to them. 15 And whoever shall turn his back to them on that day-- unless he turn aside for the sake of fighting or withdraws to a company-- then he, indeed, becomes deserving of Allah's wrath, and his abode is hell; and an evil destination shall it be. 16 And you did not kill them, but it was Allah who killed them. And you threw not, [O Muhammad], when you threw, but it was Allah who threw that He might test the believers with a good test. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing. 17 That was that, but remember God will make the plots of the unbelievers contemptible. 18 If ye besought a judgement then surely a judgement hath come unto you. And if ye desist it will be better for you; and if ye return We will return; and your host shall avail you not, although numerous it be; and know that verily Allah is with the believers. 19
