3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
