Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will you not then reflect? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 that they shall receive Our help 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Do they want to suffer Our torment immediately? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
