Nay! By the moon 32 By the night when it departs. 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except those on the right side. 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
