The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
