Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 until you reach your graves. 2 You shall know. 3 Indeed you will come to know soon. 4 Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) 5 Surely ye shall behold the Scorch. 6 In the end you will indeed, most surely, behold it with the eye of certainty: 7 Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!). 8
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
