The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 And those who drive [the clouds] 2 and those who recite the Exhortation; 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. 10 (Muhammad), ask them, "Have they (people) been created stronger than what We have created?" We have created them from moist clay. 11 Nay, but whereas thou dost marvel, they [only] scoff; 12 When they are reminded, they do not pay heed, 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected. 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny. 21
