3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
