Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
