The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By heaven and the night-star! 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
