And [yet,] they have a sign [of Our power to create and to resurrect] in the lifeless earth which We make alive, and out of which We bring forth grain, whereof they may eat; 33 And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs - 34 that they might eat of its fruits and their hands' labour. What, will they not be thankful? 35 Exaltations to Him who created pairs of all the things the earth produces and of themselves, and that of which they have no knowledge. 36 A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise. 38 And the moon, We have determined it in phases till it returns like an old palmbranch. 39 how the sun is not supposed to catch-up with the moon, nor is the night to precede the day. All of them are to float in a certain orbit; 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship. 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto whereon they ride. 42 and if We will, We drown them, then none have they to cry to, neither are they delivered, 43 except Our mercy which could enable them to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 44 When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy' 45 Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: "Spend of that with which Allah has provided you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe: "Shall we feed those whom, if Allah willed, He (Himself) would have fed? You are only in a plain error." 47 And they say: "When will this promise (i.e. Resurrection) be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 [And they are unaware that] nothing awaits them beyond a single blast [of God's punishment,] which will overtake them while they are still arguing - [against resurrection]: 49 Therefore neither able to make a will, nor returning to their homes. 50
