The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 has created man, 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
