Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 And that they say what they do not do? - 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
