The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
