Say (unto them, O Muhammad): I am only a warner, and there is no Allah save Allah, the One, the Absolute, 65 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; the Almighty, the Forgiving' 66 Say: "That is a Message Supreme (above all),- 67 "From which you turn away! 68 "I had no knowledge of the chiefs (angels) on high when they were disputing and discussing (about the creation of Adam). 69 I have only received revelation to give you plain warning. 70 [For,] lo, thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him prostrate, 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 save Iblis: he gloried in his arrogance, and [thus] became one of those who deny the truth. 74 Allah said: O Iblis! what preventeth thee from prostrating thyself before that which I have created with both my hands? Becomest thou stiff-necked, or art thou of the exalted ones? 75 He said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay." 76 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state] - for, behold, thou art henceforth accursed, 77 "And verily!, My Curse is on you till the Day of Recompense." 78 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 79 (Allah) said: "Verily! You are of those allowed respite 80 Until the Day of the time appointed. 81 He (satan) said: 'I swear by Your Might, that I will seduce all of them 82 Save Thy bondmen among them Sincere. 83 He said: The truth then is and the truth do I speak: 84 That I shall fill hell with thee and with such of them as follow thee, together. 85 Say (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) “I do not ask any fee from you for the Qur’an, and I am not a fabricator.” 86 Lo! it is naught else than a reminder for all peoples 87 and after a while you shall know its news' 88
