So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
