Al-nahl 7 of 16
۞ And Allah hath said: take not two gods; He is only One God so Me alone, Me dread. 51 And His is all that is in the heavens and on earth, and to Him [alone] obedience is always due: will you, then, pay reverence to aught but Him? 52 Whatsoever the blessings you enjoy are surely from God, and when in trouble you turn to Him in supplication. 53 Yet when He removes the evil from you, lo! a party of you associate others with their Lord; 54 (As if) to show their ingratitude for the favours we have bestowed on them! then enjoy (your brief day): but soon will ye know (your folly)! 55 And they set apart for what they do not know a portion of what We have given them. By Allah, you shall most certainly be questioned about that which you forged. 56 And they assign to God daughters; glory be to Him! -- and they have their desire; 57 and when any of them is given the good tidings of a girl, his face is darkened and he chokes inwardly, 58 He hides himself from the people because of the evil of that whereof he has been informed. Shall he keep her with dishonour or bury her in the earth? Certainly, evil is their decision. 59 For those who do not believe in the Hereafter is the description of evil; and for Allah is the highest attribute. And He is Exalted in Might, the Wise. 60

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
