Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
