Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
