The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited with the bodies 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 Then every soul will know what it had prepared for itself. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
