The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
