Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; 2 Anon he shall roast into Fire having flame. 3 along with his wife, that carrier of slanderous tales; 4 with a rope of twisted fibre round her neck. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
