The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few of later ages, 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 and shade extended, 30 and flowing water, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And couches raised up. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 For those on the right hand; 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
