God is strong, and severe in punishment! 52 That is because Allah never changeth the grace He hath bestowed on any people until they first change that which is in their hearts, and (that is) because Allah is Hearer, Knower. 53 (Deeds) after the manner of the people of Pharaoh and those before them": They treated as false the Signs of their Lord: so We destroyed them for their crimes, and We drowned the people of Pharaoh: for they were all oppressors and wrong-doers. 54 Surely the worst of beasts in God's sight are the unbelievers, who will not believe, 55 who make promises but break them every time, and who have no piety. 56 When you capture the (unbelievers) during a fight, teach them a lesson so that they thereafter will always be aware of the threat of your power. 57 And if thou fearest treachery any way at the hands of a people, dissolve it with them equally; surely God loves not the treacherous. 58
