AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 and the jinn before (the human being) of smokeless fire. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 But Iblis did not; he refused to be with the prostrates. 31 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What happened to you that you stayed apart from those who prostrated?” 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 "And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment." 35 He said: my Lord! respite me then till the Day whereon they will be raised up. 36 Said Allah, “You are of those given respite.” 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 Verily as for My bondmen, no authority shalt thou have over them, except the erring one who follow thee. 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 It hath seven gates, and each gate hath an appointed portion. 44
