And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
