And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron. 114 and We delivered them and their people from the great distress. 115 And We helped them, so they were the vanquishers. 116 And We gave them the divine writ that made [right and wrong] distinct, 117 And showed them the straight path, 118 And We left (this blessing) for them among generations (to come) in later times: 119 Peace be upon Moosa and Haroon! 120 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 121 Lo! they are two of Our believing slaves. 122 Surely, Elias too was among the Messengers. 123 He asked his people: 'Do you not fear (Allah)? 124 Do you call on Ba'lan (the idol Baal) and abandon the Best Creator, 125 God your Lord and Lord of your forefathers?" 126 But they cried him lies; so they will be among the arraigned, 127 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 Peace be unto Elias! 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 132 Lot too was one of the Envoys; 133 when We delivered him and his people all together, 134 Except an old woman (his wife) who was among those who remained behind. 135 We then destroyed the others. 136 And lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning 137 And at night-time; have ye then no sense? 138
