The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
