Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 until you reach your graves. 2 Yes certainly, you will soon realise! 3 Again, Nay! You shall come to know! 4 Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) 5 you would indeed, most surely, behold the blazing fire [of hell]! 6 And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed. 8
