The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O YOU ENFOLDED in your mantle (of reform), 1 stand up, deliver your warning, 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 And your garments purify! 4 Pollution shun! 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 Far from easy for those without Faith. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 And children to be by his side! 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 and who still desires more. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 Behold, [when Our messages are conveyed to one who is bent on denying the truth,] he reflects and meditates [as to how to disprove them] 18 So accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 19 And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Over it are appointed nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
