The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
